NEW DELHI: Home-bred handset maker Lava on Tuesday launched its latest feature phone–Lava Pulse 1 that is claimed to come with the world’s first contactless talking thermometer and will allow users to measure body temperature without touching the sensor.

Specifications-wise, it features a 2.4-inch display and a sturdy polycarbonate body, torch, VGA camera and has an expandable memory of upto 32 GB.

The handset is powered by a 1800mAh battery supported with super battery mode. Additionally, the phone comes with a 1-year replacement service assurance.

The Lava Pulse 1 feature phone also offers a number talker feature, photo icons for contacts, wireless FM with recording, and dual SIM support.

The phone allows auto call recording and enables users to type in 7 languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Gujarati, and Punjabi.

The handset is available in offline retail outlets across the country and online portals like Flipkart and Amazon.

“The Pulse series has been launched with an aim to provide preventive healthcare solutions to feature phone users. While the first phone of our Pulse series helps users to monitor their Blood Pressure at home, its successor- Pulse 1 enables users to measure their body temperature without touching the thermometer,” said Tejinder Singh, Head- Product, Lava International.

“Lava Pulse 1 is a solution for people who cannot afford the high cost of contactless thermometers or do not have easy access to a doctor/medical facility,” Singh added.
